This year we are having out annual Christmas raffle. The proceeds of this raffle goes towards the running costs of the klub. If you have anything you would like to donate to the raffle we would be most grateful. Maybe make a Christmas cake or pudding or something you have that you no longer want. It would be much appreciated. We will be selling raffle tickets in Supervalue Tramore on Friday 18th December so pop in and see us then!
we are now in the process of organizing weekly rehearsals from the New Year and to start us off we are going to run a 2 day workshop on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th December from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. Cost €15. This course will structure the new band for future rehearsals and new songs and much more.
We will contact all pupils who took part in the summer camp and would also invite any musicians, any instruments and singers, who would like to join the big band.
You need to contact the office or Kay to put your name down for this workshop as places will be limited. This course will only run if we get enough numbers in.
Saturday 10th January we will be running FREE weekly courses for guitarists and later in February a couple of courses for violin and brass instruments. We would like all pupils to attend. Guitarists will be shown how to dismantle a guitar and replace strings and any other parts that need repairing. It is most important that guitarists can tune their guitar, change a string and maintain the instrument to keep it in good working order. The Tutors will book approximately 10 pupils each Saturday to take part, so if you can’t make one week there are plenty more dates to choose from.
On behalf of Kay, David, The Tutors and all the staff of Klub Muzik we would like to wish you and your families a joyful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The Klub will close after classes on Wednesday 23rd December and re-open on Wednesday 6th January.
Klub Muzik opened in 1996 with Keyboard classes and in 2006 built on an extension of Riverstown Community Centre to accommodate Drums, Guitars, Violins, Banjo, Keyboards, Saxophone, Flute, Piano accordion, Mandolin, Tin Whistle, Recorder, Trumpet, Music/Art/Drama, teaching young children and youth to play musical instruments.
Klub Muzik has a board of Directors, is a Limited Company by Guarantee, has Charitable Status and Audited accounts.
With the volume of pupils now approximately 250 we are now in need of extending the club.
We are asking for any help with fundraising ideas, sponsorship and donations to raise €30,000 matching funds for the new building project.
The club has opened 2 accounts for donations in the name of Klub Muzik
Tramore Credit Union No. 12567-9
Bank of Ireland, Tramore No. 96559895 sort code 90-47-04
Or donations can be given direct to the club.
We are asking the residents of Tramore if they could donate €2 per household to this project. The population of Tramore is 10,000 and this would raise €20,000 for the club.
We are calling to all the local businesses with a letter plus a copy of a DVD outlining the plans of the new building . Any donations you can give to the club will be gratefully appreciated.
The facility is open for everyone in Tramore and will be a huge benefit to children in the future. We provide low cost music lessons and subsidised in some cases.
No child will be turned away from the club.
When the new building is completed we will have a Recording Studio, Soundproof band rehearsal room, soundproof drum room, extended hall for small performances and an extra teaching room.
If you have an old musical instrument that you no longer use please consider donating to the club for our loan scheme, helping children who do not have their own instrument.
Thanking you for your help.
